It's rich history and culture are sure to be enough to keep you occupied, but it also has plenty of modern attractions for those who want something more fast-paced. You can visit the Royal Palace and see the changing of the guards at 11:00 am. The Prado Museum has many famous paintings including "The Garden of Earthly Delights" by Hieronymus Bosch. There are also plenty of places to eat in Madrid such as La Bola restaurant which serves delicious tapas, or El Jardin de las delicias which specializes in paella.
